DECORATING DINNER

One of my new years resolutions (as it is every year) is to entertain more.  I love bringing together friends around the table and in recent times have almost enjoyed my time in the kitchen. My absolute favourite thing to do though is decorate and I'm a firm believer you don't need a table dripping in Peonies with gilded napkin rings to have a good time.  Recycle, reuse and reclaim trends are huge at the moment and something I wholly advocate.  When I first moved out of my parents and into my own pad like most I didn't have the budget to stretch beyond the necessities so smart cutlery and china just had to wait.  I have come to adore my mismatched plates, almost hessian napkins and glasses picked up along the way. It's the smallest of touches that make a difference, rosemary bunched together with parcel string (smells heavenly), seat settings on cocktail sticks in peaches, you name it I've done it.  This post is dedicated to those quirky table dressing ideas giving us all a little inspiration to keep our resolutions and hopefully invite a few folk over.

HANGING AROUND

I've been looking around for exciting new ways to store my clothing wares.  Being a bit of a hoarder come each season it seems to double in size with nowhere extra to hang my garments.  I don't exactly live in Buckingham Palace so need to come up with an economical (space and financial) plan.   Trapsing the big wide web I've found some quirky, novel and practical ways others before me have tackled this problem.  From the organic to the industrial there are some inventive ideas.  I love clothes to decorate rooms especially those sparkly, colourful numbers that get a rare outing.
